GIOVANNI DE FILIPPIS APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF THE ANFIA BUS DIVISION

Turin, 20 April 2021 – Giovanni De Filippis, the CEO of Industria Italiana Autobus, has been appointed to the presidency of the ANFIA Bus Division for the next three years, 2021-2023.

The division includes a number of historic bus manufacturers who, despite the severe crisis that has hit the entire public transport sector in the last ten years, have continued to promote and back the “Made in Italy” approach on a European and global scale with their design and production excellence, and still boast a complete range of technologically advanced products of the highest quality.

The sector is now facing further major challenges in terms of both the progressive decarbonisation of mobility and the post-pandemic period, with changes in citizens’ mobility habits and patterns as a result of the social distancing measures imposed to contain the disease.

Sustainable transport represents a challenge that puts the bus sector at the very heart of change – said the new chairman.

I am pleased to be able to contribute my dedication and my commitment to this historic shift, which represents a unique opportunity for the entire bus supply chain. I am sure that Italy, with its technological and industrial excellence, will play a leading role in this process“.

As part of my first mandate, continued De Filippis, I believe it is of fundamental importance to work to increase the participation of an increasingly large number of companies in the Association, in order to represent as much of the supply chain as possible and, at the same time, encourage all those involved to restore a central role to Italian production in the choices that are being made to carry out the ecological transition, with the use of green technologies such as methane, electricity, and hydrogen.
